  A protected area with the Ruiz, Santa Isabel and Tolima snow peaks, páramo and high-Andean wetlands. From Manizales you reach the Brisas–Kumanday sector, a vehicle route with views of the volcano.

  Every visit needs a registered guide or operator and accident insurance; induction talk at Brisas is mandatory; no motorbikes. High mountain: clothing for sub-zero temperatures, hydration and a gradual ascent.

  Closed since the 10 August 2026 earthquake: its north-east tower was left leaning and is being shored up. The Corredor Polaco lookout is unavailable.

  Designed by French architect Julien Polty and built in 1928–1939 after the 1926 fire. Its central tower holds the Corredor Polaco, a lookout 96 metres up that was visited with a guide before the earthquake.
